Dune: Awakening PC Benchmark Performance Review
Conclusion
What does the Dune Awakening benchmark tell us about the game?
Overall, Dune Awakening appears to run fairly well on PC. The game’s graphical settings offer gamers reasonable scalability, while resolution upscaling and frame generation add more ways for gamers to boost the game’s performance on PC. Unlike other recent PC releases, gamers have many avenues for clawing back performance in Dune Awakening.
Assuming that the game runs similarly (or better) than its benchmark tool, Dune Awakening should run well on most modern gaming PCs. Even with lower-end GPUs like AMD’s RX 6600, we can achieve stable 60+ FPS framerates with just a few settings tweaks. Higher-end GPU users will be able to enjoy higher framerate experiences at 1440p and 4K.
By default, Dune Awakening enabled DLSS/FSR upscaling and frame generation with all graphical presets. Clearly, Funcom wants this game to run on as many hardware configurations as possible. Honestly, I don’t think Frame Generation should be enabled by default, as I don’t recommend using this technology unless your game is already running at 60+ FPS. Frame Generation technologies add latency, and it is most effective when games are already running at solid framerates.
Hopefully, Dune Awakening can live up to its ambitions and be a solid MMO-style game. Based on the game’s PC benchmarking tool, it should run well on PC. That said, we will reserve our final thoughts on the game’s performance until the game officially releases later this year. So far, we have a positive opinion on the game. Let’s hope that Funcom doesn’t mess it up.
