F1 2018 PC Performance Review

F1 2018 PC Performance Review

4K Benchmarks – AMD VS Nvidia

Moving up to 4K we finally see F1 2018’s GPU demands properly scale with resolution, achieving framerates that are roughly half of what we see at 1440p. Here, our GTX 1080 offers similar performance levels to a GTX 1060 6GB at 1440p, which means that the game will likely run at around 60+ FPS when using the game’s High preset.

Like many of our other results, our Radeon RX Vega 56 offers a broader gap between its minimum and average framerates than most of Nvidia’s offerings, though the GPU maintained a substantial performance lead over Nvidia GTX 1070 throughout our 4K testing, almost nipping on the heels of Nvidia’s GTX 1080.

For 4K 60+ FPS gameplay, RX Vega 56 and GTX 1070 owners will likely need to use F1 2018’s medium preset or a self-created intermediate graphics configuration between the game’s Medium and High presets.
