F1 2018 PC Performance Review

Gaming on older hardware – R9 380 VS GTX 960 – 60FPS target

In most racing games, framerate is everything. Yes, some cames are playable at 30FPS, but racing games benefit significantly from higher refresh rates, making fast movements appear smooth while allowing vehicles to feel more responsive to controller inputs, be it from a gamepad or a steering wheel setup.

When using our R9 380 and GTX 960 graphics cards, we found that F1 2018 worked best when using the game’s medium preset, offering 60+ FPS framerates under most scenarios while providing a great visual experience. Yes, the game looks better at Ultra High, but a higher framerate makes for a much greater gaming experience than increase visual yum yum.
