Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

1440p Performance – Benchmark Results

At 1440p, it’s worth noting that there isn’t much of a performance drop from 1080p. The RTX 2080 Ti drops from 99th percentile framerates in the mid-70s at 1080p to the low 60s at 1440p. This represents a performance drop of less than 20%. Not bad for a resolution boost of over 80%.

This showcases why many consider 1440p to be a performance sweet-spot for gamers. That said, Red Dead Redemption’s PC version is a huge performance hog when using the game’s maximum preset (see the exact settings on page 2). Using our custom presets will get many of these graphics cards to produce much healthier framerates while maintaining great visuals.
