Graphical Settings Comparison – The Campaign Map

With A Total War Saga: Troy, like all Total War titles, players will likely spend as much time on the campaign map as they do in battle. If anything, more time could be spent on this map if you are a fan of the game’s auto-resolve feature.

Even at low, Troy’s campaign map is fairly detailed, but the map lacks shadowing, cloud shadows and a lot of the detail that higher settings can provide. That said, players can have a great campaign experience, even with the game’s low settings.

Moving to high settings provides more accurate shadows to A Total War Saga: Troy’s campaign map, making the game appear much less flat and significantly more detailed. Textures also appear sharper, and the game’s lighting appears more complex.

At Ultra, it is clear that trees and other items on the campaign map are more detailed. That said, it is hard to notice the difference between high and ultra settings outside of a side-by-side comparison.
