Battlefield V PC Performance Review

VRAM Usage

To test VRAM usage, we played through the entire prologue of the Battlefield V, which covers several areas of the game that include tank battles, sniping sections, air combat and standard infantry warfare, giving us a great opportunity to have a look at the game’s maximum VRAM use on our GTX 1080.

For a resolution of 1080p low/medium setting, PC gamers will get away with having graphics cards with 2GB of VRAM, which 1080p High/Ultra requiring 3GB or 4GB of VRAM respectively.

Cranking things up to 1440p, we can see that we use around 5GB of VRAM, while at 4K we use over 6GB of VRAM, which sits in-line with the power levels of graphics cards that would be desirable to run Battlefield V with high framerates at each resolution.

For 1080p 60FPS at Ultra settings we would recommend a Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB or a Radeon RX 580 8GB, both of which offer well over the 4GB of VRAM that the game will use.
