Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy PC Performance Review

1080p Benchmarks

The PS4 version of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy offers 1080p gameplay at 30FPS, delivering gamers the same refresh rate as the series’ original PS1 counterparts.

60FPS framerates are preferable on all platformers, reducing perceived input lag/control latency while also allowing characters animations to appear smoother and more satisfying to watch.

In these tests, we decided to allow the game to maintain its standard 60FPS lock on our standard test display, which will be the same lock that most modern PC gamers will see given the popularity/commonality of 60Hz monitors.

On both the Radeon and Geforce camps, we can see that mid-range GPU offerings like the RX 580 and GTX 1060 can offer stable 60FPS framerates at all times. This high framerate delivers an experience that neither the PS4 or PS4 Pro versions of the game can match, as both are only capable of 30FPS gameplay.

Moving down to our older R9 380 and GTX 960 graphics cards we can see that steady 60FPS framerates are not possible at Crash Bandicoot’s maximum settings, though a stable 30FPS framerate is possible. A constant 60 FPS is possible with lower graphical settings, though as you will see later that these settings changes have a minimal impact on the game’s visuals.
