AMD Raven Ridge Ryzen 3 2200G and Ryzen 5 2400G Review

Games Tests

Gaming is something that we wish we had more time for in this review, as is one of the most exciting elements that this product offers. We plan to dedicate more time to games testing on AMD’s Raven Ridge platform in the future, but for now here is a brief glimpse at what this APU can offer.

As we can see here a lot of graphical settings, need to be turned down to offer playable framerates at 1080p, though easy to run titles like Overwatch can be played at high framerates using the correct settings.

Looking at the specifications of the 2400G, we can see that its Vega graphics component can offer performance that is similar to an Xbox One, at least on paper.  This level of performance means that users will likely need to reduce their games to a sub-1080p resolution in more modern titles to have a good gameplay experience. This is something that we plan to investigate further in the future, as these APUs could act as a great entry point into PC gaming.
