In case you wondered why we didn’t try for a solid 4GHz or more on the 64 cores build onto the Ryzen Threadripper 3990X die, this should answer all your queries. Even with a 360MM AIO there just isn’t enough cooling to go any further. Although the low temperatures of the stock setup show that the 3990X isn’t a hot CPU by default, solely if you push its limits.

All of our thermal runs both CPU and VRM are done in the same way using prime and the settings below, we pretty much just switch it to small FFT’s and do a timed 30 minute run.
