Assassin’s Creed Shadows PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

Preset Scaling – Low to Ultra High

How scalable is Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Below, we have tested all of Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ graphical presets. Note that we have left the game’s “RTGI Diffuse Everywhere” setting enabled for all of these tests. As mentioned on page 4, disabling this can have a huge performance impact within the game’s open world.

Like most prior Assassin’s Creed games, Shadows is highly scalable on PC. The game’s “Ultra High” preset is intended for ultra-high-end PC hardware, with “High” and “Medium” settings being ideal for most PC gamers. Moving from Ultra High to Low gives us a 60% boost in framerate, and that is without disabling RTGI. Add on the performance benefits of upscaling solutions, and I’d say that Shadows is one of the most scalable games in the Assassin’s Creed series.
