ASUS ROG Strix Aura White Edition PSU
Often power supplies are hum-drum things. The ASUS ROG Strix Aura White Edition smashes that preconception.
Just look at it. Gloriously white in every regard. We adore the hexagonal design touch too.
It covers the whole of the power supply, including acting as the fans dust guard. That’s a giant fan too, guaranteed to be quiet in use. With the ROG Eye hidden away behind these hexagons, but lit by LEDs, it’s a supremely attractive PSU.
As befits a ROG product, the Strix PSU doesn’t just have modular connectors, but ones that use white plastic. It’s that attention to detail that you pay for. It also, with the silver accents, matches the silver of the TUF Z790 BTF motherboard.
If you like the silence that comes with a zero fan speed, you can press this button to toggle it on or off. The fan is actually quiet enough that you don’t need it unless you’ve the ears of a bat. Even then we’d be willing to argue the point.
About our only complaint, and it’s a minor one, is that although the cables seem braided, it’s actually a plastic coating. The cables also seem quite thin. We love the whiteness of them, but expected slightly girthier ones on a product this high up the ASUS range.
