Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

4K Performance

Even at 4K, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart does not cause many problems for high-end PC hardware configurations, with GPUs like AMD’s RX 7900 XT or Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4070 Ti powering past 60 FPS average framerates without the aid of DLSS 3 of FSR 2. For many lower-end GPUs like Nvidia’s RTX 4070 or AMD’s RX 6800, the addition of FSR 2 or DLSS will easily make 4K 60 FPS gameplay possible, potentially with some added room for ray tracing effects.

4K with Ray Tracing

At 4K Very High settings with very high ray tracing, GPUs with less than 16GB of VRAM saw performance spike, with the framerates of lower-end GPUs clearly aligning with their VRAM capacities. Yes, GPUs like the RTX 4070 Ti or RTX 4070 should be able to move past this limitation by upscaling to 4K with DLSS, but it is clear that this game is very VRAM heavy when its highest settings are used.
